Dance companies prepare yourselves -- Sydney is coming for ya! On a cool Fall day, Sydney and I met up to take some head shots and dance shots for her portfolio. Sydney is a senior in the dance program at the University of Wisconsin: Steven Point and upon graduating, plans to audition for various Contemporary Modern dance companies across the country. I hadn't seen Sydney in a few years -- she was a student of mine when she was a senior in high school -- and it was wonderful catching up and talking to her about life, dance, and the struggles we face trying to make a career in the arts. While it's true that it's not an easy life, I believe Sydney is going to make it happen. Dance is her heart's calling and I know her tenacity will help her succeed wherever she goes.
